A deck built for one game

A deck that makes Skat click.

Skat is one of the best card games ever made — and one of the hardest to pick up. The Blue Rings deck redesigns the cards themselves so the rules become obvious just by looking at your hand.

Skat, in short

A serious card game

Germany's most popular card game for over 200 years — a fast, three-player trick-taking game rated among the best card games ever made.

Notoriously hard to learn

Standard playing cards were never designed for Skat's rules, so beginners end up fighting the deck as much as the game.

This deck fixes that

The Blue Rings redesigns the cards so the rules are obvious at a glance — no rulebook required to get started.

The Blue Rings - A New Deck for Skat!

Why a new deck

The rules were never the problem — the cards were.

Skat has been played with traditional Jack/Queen/King decks for 200 years, but those cards were never designed for Skat's rules. The Blue Rings deck redraws the cards from scratch: recoloring the trumps, printing point values directly on the cards, and choosing a palette built to be readable by colorblind players too.

Ring Cards, set apart

Skat's four Jacks are always trump — a constant source of confusion for new players. We pulled them out of the suits entirely and gave them their own identity: the Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow Rings, ranked in that order.

Points printed on the card

Every card shows its actual point value and rank — no more memorizing why a Ten outranks a King. Look at your hand, and the math is right there.

Colors anyone can read

Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow suits, tuned so they stay distinguishable for the ~5% of players with some form of color blindness — not just pretty on a normal screen.
